Has Red Robin Gone Too Far?

Over the last few years, Red Robin Commercials have invaded the airways of just about every television station. Most have a woman sitting in the restaurant trying to be funny, but I never liked any of her jokes. I originally began writing this post to address one of her lines and discovered another is getting serious attention as well.

My complaint was with the "Burger Daddy" commercial. This commercial insinuates that women will trade sexual favors for the price of a burger. Not only does it tells society women can be bought or controlled with money, but for the low price of a combo meal!

What makes me even angrier is that I have seen this commercial aired during children programing. What kind of example are we setting for our youth? Women should submit to men for money and material objects? Men can get whatever they want from a woman if they have cash? I thought the American Society had progressed more than this, I guess it was just wish for thinking on my part.

The most recent Red Robin Commercial (See It Here) has profanity and children in it. Although the second curse word was censored, the commercial crossed a line. The franchise has always promoted itself as a family restaurant by displaying children in the background of it's commercials. However, using profanity in the burger name is not very family friendly. I don't see Apple Bees with this type of product name!

Personally. I have yet to see the new ad on television. On Red Robin's Facebook page, many concerned parents express their dismay of the advertisement and vow to Boycott the restaurant. Some even state they have seen the new commercial during family television time.
