As women, we still must fight a glass ceiling that is apparent almost everywhere (yes, even in the blogosphere). The women who blaze trails must be more than just pretty or adorable. They must have gravitas! Where is that in Palin? She thinks that bordering another country gives her experience in foreign matters! I've lived in the Philippines (near China, Taiwan, Viet Nam, Indonesia), Switzerland (bordering France, Germany, Austria and Italy) and California (near Mexico) therefore I must be an expert in all Asian, European and Central American issues, correct? Once Upon a time, I could literally see France from my house! I could wipe my ass with her foreign policy credentials.
She also doesn't believe in Evolution. The Bible was written by men, not God, and when you stop questioning the claims of man then you have devolved yourself into a lemming.
I love that her policies are in favor of smaller government - just small enough to fit in our bedrooms. When she says she's a outside the Washington Elite, she means that she knows nothing about what goes on in Washington. She can't even think of a Supreme Court ruling other than Roe v. Wade that she disagrees with. I'm sorry, is there any cognitive activity going on in there, Mrs Palin? How about the ruling on symbolic speech such as flag burning? I figured that would be kind of a big deal to her conservative leanings, right?
The first woman in the white house should be strong, she should be intelligent, she should be more than just a pretty piece of eye candy. Most importantly, the VP should at least have some knowledge of Landmark Supreme Court Rulings. It's not about how she's a Washington Outsider, it's not because she's a hockey mom...
It's because there's nothing between her ears.
I want the first woman in the White House to be competent and capable of relying on something other than their looks. When she speaks, she must command respect! Not a pat on the head that you would give a school girl when she gets an answer right and that gosh darn folksy stuff is no substitute for education and intelligence.
