Thanksgiving is a holiday that focuses on food. Whether you're hanging with the family or with friends, or even by yourself, chances are there will some sort of special meal on your table.
This year, consider sourcing at least some of your Thanksgiving meal locally. Check out the local farmers markets for what is in season. If you don't have a farmers market between now and Thursday, just take a good look at the signs at the grocery store. Before buying tomatoes or potatoes or bread, check out where it comes from. Most supermarkets have signs telling you where your produce comes from. Take a good look and try to buy the closest produce you can.
Eating locally can save a lot of fossil fuels. It's better for you and better for the environment.
