About

I first dealt with the confusion and weirdness of infertility (the diagnosis and treatment) in isolation. This was a time not so long ago when information was available only via the U.S. Postal Service or the library. It was only after my husband and I decided we were done being human lab experiments that I began to realize that infertility is actually about more than making a baby. It's about coming to terms with a set of unanticipated curve balls – most of which come out of left field – in the wake of infertility diagnosis and treatment.

That’s when I decided I didn’t want to be alone with my thoughts any longer. I
started my blog Coming2Terms with great trepidation and low expectations.
Within a matter of weeks I was pleasantly surprised by how much writing and
joining a community of those who had walked in my shoes helped to make sense of my
long-suppressed emotions and sense of “otherness.”

My international readership includes mothers after infertility treatments or adoption, those in treatment, and those, who like me, are building lives that no longer revolve around doctor visits and 28-day cycle watches. I’m now passionate about raising awareness outside of simply the demands of infertility treatment. I am writing a book on the same subject. Oh, yeah, and I recently “outed myself” by discussing my infertility experience with the New York Times.
