I am a conservatory-trained pianist with three books of published poetry. My new novel, Shiva's Arms, is out now from The Writer's Lair Books, a small house in Baltimore. The idea for the book came about while I was watching a program on sanyasi with my husband Krishna. He explained to me about the four stages of a Brahmin's life, and all at once I had a framework for a cross-cultural story derived from my own experience.

My blog is designed to tell the story of my book, and bring to a wider audience one view of the Indian diaspora, from my American point-of-view.
