After four devastating miscarriages, our luck changed in 2005 when my husband and I adopted a beautiful baby girl.  I write about my adoption journey, my life in animal rescue, the challenges of vegetarianism, and whatever else comes to mind. 

I have a degree in English and work as a project manager for a web development firm.  I am trying to get more serious about my writing and recently submitted an essay for inclusion in an anthology (no kidding - a real live book!)

I have suffered from vitiligo since early childhood.  I went through a depigmentation process over a two year period (age 14-16), which is why I call myself "Alabaster Mom."
