I'm a critic, journalist, and poet whose reviews and essays have appeared in The New York Times Book Review, Salon, The Nation, The Washington Post, The Village Voice, Print magazine, and others. In 2004, I founded www.emdashes.com, a blog about media, film, and popular culture. I'm the managing editor of PEN America's journal and am working on a nonfiction book about virtual identities. I grew up in the Midwest and on the East and West coasts and now live in Brooklyn, New York.
