Healthy Body Initiative: Team Sports

For some odd reason whenever I think about getting some exercise I always thing about things that I would do alone, things like going to the gym or riding a bike or going on a run. Occasionally I with think things like Oh yeah, I could get someone to play tennis with me or Maybe I can trick Devra into coming over here and walking a couple of days a week so that exercise isn't so boring.
Here is the strange thing - even though I spend hours every week sitting on my butt in front of my television watching football and basketball and hockey it never even usually crosses my mind that I can get exercise and have fun by playing a team sport.
That's right. You heard me. Team sports.
Lori at Avacado8 plays ice hockey. (She is kind of a badass.)
Charlotte is playing volleyball in a community league. In fact she and her husband both play in the league.
There are other sports too. You can get involved with roller derby (this sport is getting insanely popular, leagues are springing up everywhere), soccer, women's football, field hockey... there are so many options. I am sure I am forgetting some really good ones. I'm just saying get out there and try to get exercise and have fun at the same time. You might even make some new friends.
