Hear Me Roar!

Women all over the world are finding their voices. It’s a new voice, one that cannot be bullied, outsmarted or squashed. This article highlights how women are taking to the streets for the rights of other women. That’s change and it’s contagious.

Why changed, why now?

In my opinion, change came about through women having access to education, and through learning came self-respect, confidence, love and consciousness. Speaking as a women who has worked, conquered and moved on from working in a boy’s club environment not once but twice. What I value as one of the most important changes I see taking place, is how women are actively supporting each other both personally and professionally.

With support comes courage and creative thinking. There are no clocks that can be turned back, women of all ages have become a newer version (5.5 version perhaps) of themselves, and are ready and eager to speak up and take action, to bring about healthy changes around the globe. I want changes that bring about human rights for women, so wherever we are located; our voices are welcomed, viewed and valued in whatever role or platform we choose to speak from.

I look forward to writing my piece of the next chapter according to the 21st century woman. I know I have come along way in valuing myself and I’m so happy to be a woman in a time when endless opportunities are there for the taking. It’s great fun knowing I have such good company along the way.

If you enjoy spotting trends, then expect to be kept busy in 2012. Every day is a new day for women to voice their opinions and achieve their goals.

Girls do have more fun, right?
