Hearts & Anger Don't Mix

Researchers at Yale University, found that when people with a known history of irregular heart rhythms (arrhythmia's) were asked to remember an anger inducing experience, their hearts were more likely to develop a certain type of beat that could lead to sudden death. This is more research by a team led by Dr. Rachel Lampert, who have published on this subject in the past. The theory is that when people who are already at risk for a serious arrhythmia experience anger, the flood of stress hormones affects the way the heart beats and can lead to a very rapid heart rate and even death. It's known that it takes a while for those stress hormones to dissipate.

We've all seen people in the throes of anger get red in the face.  Think about what's also happening to their blood pressure and to the tiny electrical pathways of their hearts?

I saw recent evidence that women are more at risk for heart attack with a broken heart! We've all heard the stories of people who hear upsetting news and then suffer a heart attack.
