A Heritage Look for a Gourmet Lunch
The Reason I Dressed
A while back we were invited by our newly married friends to try a fantastic gourmet restaurant with them just outside of Modena.
We went to the Osteria Il Grano di Pepe, and if you’d like to see what we ate I wrote about it here.
What I Wore
I wanted to “dress-up” without being over dressed so I opted for a pair of high wasted dark denim jeans, a RW&Co tweed blazer, a vintage Louis Vuitton bag, dark brown leather kitten heel boots and a hand colored real American alligator belt.
My boots are by the Italian brand Alberto Fermani. Let me let you in on a little secret….you’ve never heard of Alberto Fermani I bet, but they are an incredible brand. I bought my boots two years ago and they still look and feel incredible. They are very comfortable, are made with exceptional leather, and they are 100% handmade in Italy by Italian shoe artisans.
I bought my boots from the Mauro Poluzzi boutique in Bologna (a Bologna institution of good taste, Mauro is very well known in the industry), the original price was 270 euro ($370), I got them half off and paid a little extra to have them shortened (yes you can actually do that!!).
If you are wondering how you will ever find these amazing boots outside of Italy I got you covered because they sell on this North American site that offers free delivery!
These are my favorite styles currently available on sale:
Our little guy slept all through lunch, so when he awoke after lunch we took him to the closest park to play. It’s our way of finding a happy medium when we do something for ourselves and he accompanies us. We try to fit in one thing for us and one thing for him.
In the next few weeks I’ll be sharing my trip to Berlin. I’ll call it the “Berlin with a Toddler Trip Guide”. We followed the one for us one for him rule each day so that we actually saw things we wanted to see without stressing him out from boredom!
