He's two

My little boy is two today and he's no longer a baby. Sigh. He runs around the house finding new and inventive ways to amuse himself, creating tornado like chaos in his path. I never realized how emotional birth days are for mothers. But they are. So take this as a warning, it's going to get sappy!

A year ago today I wrote this:

"At 3:37 pm on December 12th, 2009 EJ was born.  He was serene from the start... so calm and content to just lie on my chest. Pure heaven! He is a sweet gentle soul and I am blessed by his presence."

It's another year later and my youngest is still the sweet person I described above. From the start EJ and his brother have been polar opposites, except in one crucial way, they are both very happy children. I don't mean that they are happy and content because we are good parents, though I believe we are. I mean they genuinely have a light in their heart and they radiate joy at all times. EJ wakes up with a smile on his face and goes to bed with a smile on his face. He's a happy-go-lucky little dude and it doesn't take much to keep him content.
