Recently I was on a bit of bed rest because of a knee injury. I took advantage of that time to clean out the 565 e-mails in my "in" box, and write long overdue responses to personal correspondence.
I'm lying.
I watched HGTV nearly non-stop. And justified it because we are re-doing the house. At least we were re-doing the house until I developed a trick knee.
I really thought from past HGTV watching experience, that all HGTV was created equal. NOT SO. I've developed some rather strong opinions about what I like to watch, and what I don't ever care to see again.
I tend to gravitate toward the non-gimmicky shows. The more real, down to earth, non-pissy personalities. For example, I have a strong attraction to Mike Holmes. (Not in that way, but in the WOW, I WANT THIS MAN IN OVERALLS TO BUILD MY NEXT HOUSE.)
A few of my new favorite HGTV shows:
• Holmes on Homes
• Design on a Dime
• House Hunters (and House Hunters International)
• Curb Appeal
• Designed to Sell
What's on your HGTV must-see list?
