For this past Christmas, Hubby's family decided to have a Depression Christmas featuring hand made gifts instead of buying gifts. Personally I thought it was a wonderful idea, especially since I'm a crafty kinda gal.

One of Hubby's family traditions is a huge Christmas Eve party for friends & family. Santa even takes time from his busy schedule to stop by with presents. The gifts are mainly for the kids in attendance at the party but adults get gifts too, although more like stocking stuffers.

This year for my Christmas Eve gifts, I made sugar body scrubs from a recipe I found on line. The one I used is by C & H Sugar but I'm sure you could Google & find others as well. There were several different recipes available to try out on the C & H website. I like the simplicity of the sugar scrub recipes & made quite a few batches over time.

I had so much fun at Whole Foods sniffing the different oils to decide on what "flavor" I wanted my scrubs to be. Since I have allergies, I didn't want anything too floral or strong. I went with the classic Bitter Orange citrus scent plus the Mexican vanilla I already had at home. Putting the 2 scents together created a smell very much like a Dreamsicle, my favorite popsicle flavor. The brown sugar scrub uses a variety of spices for a different smell.

I found small glass jars at Wal-mart that were the perfect size. I printed out some labels using a pretty CK font, including the usage instructions. I ended up with 2 different scrubs, so everyone wouldn't get the exact same thing. Once they were all packaged up in gift bags, voila, I was done with Christmas Eve stocking stuffers.

So feel free to make some wonderful sugar body scrubs for yourself. I kept a jar for me & have found it to work very well. My body parts were nicely exfoliated & the oils absorbed quickly, making my skin so very soft & smooth. Ecofriendly & inexpensive as well plus the custom handmade touch -perfect as a gift for any occasion!

Hi!

Using homemade body scrub for your skin protection is cheap and effective. However you may turn to some other quality body scrub with amazing effects and can provide your skin with the best natural effects.

Sugar scrubs are wonderful! They leave the skin so soft and don't sting me the way salt scrubs do.  Let me know if you ever need any advice about which essential oils to use - I'm an aromatherapist :)
