This reeks of trouble. Two days before they were to scheduled get married, U.S. women's soccer star Hope Solo and former NFL tight end Jerramy Stevens, got into a late-night tiff about where they were going to live after the wedding, according to the Associated Press. And then somehow stun guns and the police got involved.

The two, who have been in a relationship for two months, were set to get married Tuesday and argued over whether to live in Washington or Florida after their marriage, according to court documents.
Police in the Seattle suburb of Kirkland responded to a disturbance at a home around 3:45 a.m. Monday involving a physical altercation between eight people during a party, said Lt. Murray.
He said officers contacted several people in the home who appeared intoxicated and didn’t cooperate with police, but determined based on information and observations that there was probable cause to arrest Stevens for investigation of fourth-degree assault. Murray didn’t identify the alleged victim, but court records show it was Solo, who received a cut to her elbow.
Court documents show that Solo’s 34-year-old brother, Marcus, called 911, and that he and Solo told officers there was a party and blamed the disturbance on two to three unknown men who were at the party. Marcus Solo told police he used a stun gun on one of the men, who left the party before police arrived, according to court records.
When the news broke on Twitter yesterday afternoon, fans of the soccer star were shellshocked. What in the world has Solo gotten herself into now?
Stevens, who was selected by the Seattle Seahawks with the 28th-overall pick in the 2002 NFL Draft, is a former Washington Huskies star. According to King County records, he and Solo applied for a marriage license last Thursday.
The question is: why would Solo (or anyone for that matter) think Stevens is suitable marriage material. Tuesday's court appearance is yet another blotch on his already spotted legal record. Seattle PI details his various run-ins with the law including his most recent publicized arrest in March 2011, when he allegedly attacked two bouncers at a bar in Tampa, Fla.
Stevens' legal issues date back to assault and drug arrests while he was a high-schooler at River Ridge in Olympia. One of those incidents reportedly was a prearranged fight with a 17-year-old boy, whom one of Stevens' friends allegedly hit in the head with a baseball bat before Stevens allegedly stomped on his face.
During college at Washington, Stevens pleaded guilty to hit-and-run after he ran his vehicle into a nursing home in 2000. He has been accused and, in some cases, convicted of numerous other driving crimes throughout the past dozen years.
Also in 2000, Stevens was accused of sexual assault against a Washington sorority member. Stevens was arrested, but after a long investigation prosecutors decided there was not enough evidence to file charges.
In 2007, Stevens was convicted of drunken driving in Arizona and was given a 30-day jail sentence. The incident also got him a one-game NFL suspension, and his off-field problems led to the Seahawks not re-signing him after that season.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers signed him after that incident, and he played there until he was arrested for marijuana possession in October 2010. The Bucs released him almost immediately.
Stevens' attorney, Todd Maybrown, argued Tuesday that Stevens' criminal history should not be considered in the new case.
During Sunday night's incident, Solo refused to give a written statement or take a domestic violence brochure, according to the incident report. Police described her as uncooperative and argumentative.
I'm no psychologist but it seems like there needs to be an intervention. Stevens oviously has some giant anger/power issues. And while Solo is accustomed to getting banged up by competitive and physical opponents, she shouldn't be combative with her partner. Domestic violence is a serious issue and she's walking right into a maelstrom. Did she not read about Rhianna and Chris Brown?
Solo is a great goalkeeper, but I fear her judgment off the field isn't too great. And I'm genuiniely worried.
