How Being Pregnant Is Like Being a Toddler Again

BlogHer Original Post

Did you know that being pregnant is a lot like being a toddler? I didn't until I read Lisa's post at Expandng -- and I laughed out loud. It reminded me a lot of being pregnant with our youngest son while our older son was definitely in the throes of toddlerdom. The similarities -- especially between their pants -- are striking. And humorous.

She starts off her list:

I’m going to enjoy this time of being pregnant even if I have an energetic 2.5-yr (J) who I can’t keep up with (I was exhausted from playing hide-n-seek last night) because goodness knows we’re going to have our hands doubly full when the baby arrives. Nevertheless, despite our different energy levels, J and I have quite the number of things in common:

1. We’re both picky eaters.
He doesn’t like green leafy vegetables, and I need something sour and/or spicy at every meal. Lucky, Alan, right? We haven’t turned Alan into a short-order cook or a midnight cheeseburger runner yet. Though when it’s my turn to cook, I do tend to cook toward my cravings…this week definitely has burgers on the menu so I have the excuse to eat lots of pickles. I think J might even like pickles.
