Now to food:) How to make Mangu?
Mangu is one of the most delicious cultural dish of the Dominican Republic; you could eat it for Breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
Ingredients:
Platano Verdes Green Plantains
Mantequilla (baja en Grasa) Butter (low Fat is better)
Sal y agua al gusto Salt & water to taste
Aceite de oliva Olive oil
Peel the platanos, and put it in a big pot, adding the salt, water, and a drop of olive oil;wait until the water is boiling (usually takes 20 to 25 minutes); when the platanos are soft, drain the water and mash them; add butter (quantity of butter depens on how soft do you want the platanos to be) mixed together add olive oil about 2 tea spoons and voila you just made Mangu...It could be served with eggs, meat, vegetables and it is a great source of potassium...I hope you enjoy Bravas Recipes and comments...see you soon:) " Life is the Result of our Choices"...Brava:)
