How to Make Filipino Beef Tapa

 

Ingredients:

 

  • 1 kilo sirloin or other tender
  • beef cuts preferably with fat
  • 1/4 c. brown sugar
  • 1/4 c. white sugar
  • 1 tsp. saltpeter (salitre)
  • 2 tbsps. salt
  • 2 tsps. Aji-no-moto
 
Slice beef thinly to desired size (preferably across the grain). In a bowl mix the rest of the ingredients and spread this on the meat. Allow beef to marinate for at least 24 hours in refrierator. Fry and serve.
 
Note: Use less sugar if desired.
