How NOT to Thrift!

We all know that minding our pretty little pennies is what we do. But even shopping on a budget can have its pitfalls. Let me explain, because I've been burned. This week, I scoured the racks at the local Goodwill and it just inspired me to write up some thrift store DONT'S so that your new purchase doesn't end up in your next donation pile.

Rule #1 DO NOT JUSTIFY A POOR PURCHASE. The prices can be so tempting, but those little purchases really add up. If it's not your color, don't persuade yourself that it is. If its too big around the waist, you'll find a great fitting pair next time.

Rule #2 Check for stains and holes. I tend to stick with great quality brands to begin with, which will help to avoid the holes (not always). So check the pits, the crotch, and the general item for stains. Then look closely at the seams, pockets, and complete item for any holes, thin spots or snags. Its NOT worth it people. Unless you're going for a grunge look....hang it back up.
