How old do you feel?

This year I turned 38. It's a good age, I guess... I'm not too sure to be honest. See, that's kind of the point. My physical age is 38, but that's meaningless to me because I don't feel 38.

Normally I struggle to remember how old I am when people ask me and it's not because I'm trying to be evasive. Far from it. It's because I feel 16 [ish] most days, but wiser and less rebellious [ok, maybe sometimes it's closer to 20, but it's certainly never 38].

I imagine this is what an out of body experience might feel like. I'm constantly walking around disconnected to the body that's carrying my brain [kind of like on Futurama].

When I look in the mirror and see my grey haired reflection or when I spend time being "mom" to my two boys, that's when I know I am older than I feel. But even then, I don't really KNOW it... know what I mean?

I understand that it's a good thing, in a way. I just can't help but wonder if I'll still feel this way when [if] I get to be a little old lady. Imagine, "being" 16 and stuck in a 90 year old body. Whoa!

Do you feel your age or are you somewhat disconnected also?

[SIDE NOTE: Today is not my birthday, it was a while ago...]
