How to Write a Good Comment

BlogHer Spotlight

[Editor's Note: A Separate Life goes through how to leave a good comment. She runs through the 9 points one should consider when leaving a comment, but also admits that she often breaks most of the rules. What would you add to her list? --Mel]

All bloggers love comments. They tell us that people are at least finding their way to our blogs, and are bothering to read what we have written. Repeat commenters are of course our favourites, because they have bothered to find their way to our blog more than once. (If we’re honest, we know that we have all found our way to blogs out of curiosity, or simply because we were lost). Regular commenters become friends, often friends we’ve never met, but friends we plan to meet, one day, in Italy. New commenters however are also a thrill, because it means someone new might like what we have to say, or the way we say it, and might visit again.
