I work at an Assisted Living and today I was at working with some residents who have AD. One lady who is usually sleeping or unresponsive to activities was awake and humming. Her daughter came into visit her and was asking me about why her mother was humming. She asked if it was indiciative of a level of the disease. I wasn't able to answer her on the spot, but I told her I would do some research. Has anyone experienced a loved one humming constantly? Do older people hum to comfort themselves or do they not know what they are doing. I will try to do some research and get back with everyone tomorrow.
