Hungry Girl cuts cravings with delicious diet: Lose 10 lbs in 4 weeks
By Joanne Eglash on May 13, 2014
For dieters, happiness is losing weight without having to cope with cravings or battle hunger. Sound like an impossible diet dream? Lisa Lillien turns it into reality with her new weight loss book. It explains how to choose nutrient-dense foods to keep you full while helping you shed pounds easily. The book is entitled: "The Hungry Girl Diet: Big Portions. Big Results. Drop 10 Pounds in 4 Weeks" (click for details).
“The idea has always been to make big portions of foods that are satisfying," explained Lisa to Fox News. "My plan is about 1,300 calories a day-- so that's not a lot of calories, but you get a ton of food for that amount of calories."
Lisa's four-week plan details precisely how to enjoy three tasty meals and three delicious snacks a day that eliminate the stress of counting calories. All the work is done for you in terms of calculating how much to eat. In addition to the detailed meal plans, Lisa includes yummy recipes. We have the book (love it!) and have included our own favorite recipe below. You can get more information about "The Hungry Girl Diet: Big Portions. Big Results. Snacks: Butternut fries

“I am a french fries fan, so I’ve tried every vegetable in the produce aisle as a french fry. Butternut squash works, carrots work-- you bake them, you don't fry them and when you add a little salt they are out of this world,” Lisa said.
6 ounces peeled butternut squash, cut into French-fry-shaped spears
Dash coarse salt
1 tablespoon ketchup
Preheat oven to 425 degrees. Spray a baking sheet with nonstick spray.
Thoroughly pat dry the squash spears. Lay them on a sheet, and sprinkle with salt. Bake for 10 minutes. Flip spears and bake until mostly tender on the inside and crispy on the outside, about 6 minutes. Serve with ketchup for dipping.
Note: Also included in Lisa's book is a weight loss maintenance plan.
