I Bleed For Them (poem)
By MoodyMommi on December 18, 2012
Bleeding due to a wound afflicted upon another can be debilitating
but that is what empathy is and I have it abundantly.
I try to be here for you sister
even as your pain cuts me deeply
opening up wounds with fresh scabs spilling out memories that I would rather forget.
But this is not about me, this is about you so for you I put on a stoic face.
I lift you up as the weight of my past burdens try to break me
but for others I am stronger then what I could ever be for myself.
My love for you over-shadows my own demons
which lurks on the other side of my consciousness.
I will not relinquish to its beckoning for I am at your behest.
I am your boulder and will be your voice of reason
even as I shout at the injustice of both our pains.
Wipe your tears I am here
if for nothing else but to offer solace and knowledge that you do not fight this alone
that I have experienced your walk through the death chambers and have come out on the other side
scathed but not beyond repair.
Hold my hand as we seek to reach the other side of disillusionment.
It was not what you thought,
may be worse then you feared, but still, I am here.
I put my own tangible tears in check until I have you where you need to be
safe in the comfort of knowing you have a friend always
who is willing to sacrifice for you.
I am willing to wait my turn
for I know you will be this for me
