I Did – But Now I Don’t - Mr. Valentines
By kczane on February 11, 2014
It's that time of the year again, Valentine’s Day. It is the most treacherous season for single moms. It seems that no matter where you turn, everything has shifted into a heart-like shape. (Have you seen the recent commercial where even the camera lens has morphed into a heart?!)
It all often feels like a sad reminder, that we are once again without a proper romantic date for Feb 14. We may as well crawl up on the couch, all by yourself, with a big ol’ piece of freshly baked chocolate cake, (we just retrieved from the trash – to avoid it’s calorie laden goodness), and sadly chow down bemoaning our oneness. Or, you could share some delicious cookie's and cakes courtesy of Rich's Products. They have a new campaign called "Bakery Because." It's all about sharing yummy treats will all the loves in your life. And they've given me 5 $25 dessert gift cards to share with you. You can find more information about receiving your very own at kerrizane.com.
I have been a single mom for 13 years now, and for the majority of each passing February 14th, I have been minus a chocolate toting, rose-laden lover. Living without a “better half” allowed me the opportunity to redefine what Valentines meant to me. The whole month of February has taken on a new colorful blush in my world, for that matter. This pink and red holiday season has become a wonderful time to honor and share, my cupid’s love-filled arrow; with all the people in my life I cherish the most. My daughters, my mom, my very best girlfriends, and the women who are so near and dear I call them “sis.” They are the recipients of my heart shaped everything.
Plus, I've selected a few super special treats you can share with these special people or give yourself. There's a clever Clipa - the cutest purse hanger I've ever seen, ThirdLove will make you you're very own lingerie --- from a phone app! And they've given me a $50 gift certificate to share with you. Or write yourself into your very own Romance Novel! Isn't that a clever way to spend a self indulgent romantic evening? Of course you must do it in style, curled up in the softest, coziest wrap I've ever experienced frm Red Twist.
So, Happy Valentines Day to all you beautiful single momma's. I invite you to join me in chucking the obligatory stupid cupid, and lavish yourself and the ones around you with beautiful gifts and the warmth that lies in your heart.
