I don't FIND the time

How many times have I been asked, "How do you find the time to do that?"? I can't even count. My friends want to know how I have the time to read this book or that one. They wonder aloud how I manage to post so many blogs. (I post at least one a day, sometimes more, between here, Paramomal, and MySpace.) I only have one answer. I don't find the time. I make the time.

I replace the things of lesser importance to me with the things of more importance to me. Sadly, cleaning my house is not at the top of my list and so my house is usually not as clean as it could be, or probably even should be. I don't care as much if my pants are wrinkled as I do if I get another 30 minutes to keep on writing. I forgoe a little sleep to get another page read in the book I'm on. I make time where others think there isn't any.

For some, a spotless house and neatly pressed clothes are what makes them tick. And to those people, reading a book is not of value. That is all ok. But what holds value for one does not hold value for all. I flash forward in time to the day I die. You know how people who've had near-death experiences say that their lives flashed before their eyes? I think about that moment in time and I really don't want visions of mops and brooms and buckets of water and Lysol dancing before me. I'd rather be seeing smiles and miles- people and places. Art and words and worlds thought up just to make things seem better.

It all boils down to one thing. The things you truly love in life are the things you make the time for. It isn't hard. Your heart will guide you and you will be truly happy.
