I Made It A Full Week!

I did it!  I made it a whole week in the Positive Project!  I am currently in Seattle visiting another pastor friend of mine.  In our church the first five years of ministry is spent paired up with another person or couple who mentors you through issues, talk stuff out, etc.  So short visit to Seattle and back home on Wednesday.

We had dinner this evening with another friend and I admitted to these two lovely ladies about my "Positive Project".  As much as I want to keep this under my hat, I need to have some accountability going here if I am going to be successful.  We sat and talked about some of the methods I was using to stay positive, why I think the thoughts I do, etc.  They were such a source of encouragement.  If I am really going to be successful at this, I will need their help and strength to draw from when I don't want to be positive or when I am just down for the count.

Here's the thing:  you don't want to do this alone.  Get a support system going.  I am an introvert at heart, and I know how to play the extravert quite well.  I still need friends though despite wanting to hole up in my house and not come out for a few days.  Choose wisely too.  You want someone who doesn't really have the same issues as you, but who knows what you are talking about when you seek their advice.

To know someone is in your corner is a lovely thing indeed.  Good thing that happened to me today:  I saw old friends who picked up where they left off.
