I'm "All In"

To steal a poker phrase, I'm All In. I am now full fledged dieting, so I will need to scale back the exercise.

I ended up jumping back in a little earlier then planned. I just needed to, it felt right, so here I am.

I decided to return to my beloved Medifast diet. It's very strict, and doesn't allow me to drink, which I hate, but I don't end up cheating, so I have great success. I know where my problems lie, and this time around I am not going to concentrate on them. I am simply going to concentrate on the positive, and do my very best. Like anything that works it is a struggle, but the structure works for me.

The plan is prepackaged (mostly powdered) stuff. You get 5 of their "meals" a day, and one meal of a strictly measured meal of meat and veggies. If you have the inclination (I do), you can get pretty creative with the packages, as well as the Lean and Green. Today is day 3 for me, and I have reached full on Ketosis. That means I'm cranky, gassy, headachy, and peeing like a race horse. Don't worry, in a couple of days that passes and you get a huge burst of energy, and feel better then you ever do. At least that is how it works for me. I think it's because the 5 packages are perfectly balance to give you the most healthy doses of ALL the vitamins and nutrients you need to keep you healthy. The diet is very low cal (Between 850-1100 cals), so you have to be careful with exercise. otherwise you will stall the weightless end of it. You will still lose the inches. You lose weight fast on this diet. Especially in the first week (water weight), but after it balances it is about 2lbs a week which is healthy.

So there you have it, and when I say things like OP (on plan) and L&G (lean and green) you will understand what I mean.

So last night I had chicken breasts and asparagus. Nothing creative, and I overdid both. I was busy trying to make chips out of zucchini and turnips, and forgot about the dinner. Luckily it was still okay, but not the type of food I am used to making, sigh.

So, here are the chips. They are delicious! I really, really had my doubts, so I didn't make a ton (Don't think it's a whole green portion), but I have more in the oven now:-) Even the kids love them, so if your trying to get your kids to eat healthier snacks, you may want to try them.

I used my mandolin on the thinnest setting to make the chips. I cut the bottom off the turnip and peeled them down because I have heard the the bitterness can be in that top layer. I've never had them before, so I didn't want to risk it.

Toss in a bowl with a tiny bit of EVO and Sea Salt

Next I layered them on parchment paper on a cookie sheet and put them in a 200 degree oven. They cook for four hours, or until desired crispness is reached, and turn them (pain in the rear) every hour to cook them evenly. you have to do it individually or they will clump together.

then eat. or store in an airtight container.

Yup. That was exactly it. I got 1/2 way to gaol, and was feeling pretty good about myself. I strted eating slowly at first, healthy choices. Then very, very badly... Even at 1/2 way I should have transitioned and maintained, then I would only have a little more. Instead, I gobbled and grew, and now I have more:-( Congrats on your loss. Follow through with your transition, and remember you made lifestyle changes to lose it, and if you revert, you will gain it back.

I have been on Medifast since August and lost 35 pounds, I have 12 more to go. You said you had to jump back in - was it because you found once you stopped the diet you started gaining? My coach said I would have to transition off, so I am anxious to see what that entails.

I am done buying food, I have enough to get the last 12 pounds off. I finally organized all the food and couldn't believe how much I still had.
