I'm Sending Him with School Supplies That Aren't on the List
By Just Enjoy Him on August 22, 2011
[Editor's Note: That back-to-school supply list surely seems extensive and exhaustive, doesn't it? At the very least, expensive -- right? Judy at Just Enjoy Him acknowledges the importance of the school supplies she has to purchase for her son, but also wishes to send him to school with another set of "supplies." I think she's spot on. -Jenna]
Well, almost everything. There are those “supplies,” those unquantifiable things that you hope you equip your child with each year as you send him/her off to school. You want him to succeed academically, but you also want him to succeed socially and emotionally. If I could pack another bag with these “items,” I’m wondering what I would pack. Perhaps it would include those immeasurable “items” such as the following:
Faith — understanding that he can rely on God in or out of school, during both difficult and good times.
Strength — to help him through difficult days or when kids at school are less-than-nice to him.
