Imus & his comeback: As a black woman, why I should even care
by ContentBlackWoman

Well folks, in the words of L.L. Cool J, don't call it a come back.

Anyone with any idea of the media and the money game knew the day was coming when Don Imus would be back on the scene.

In the Black community, it is pretty much expected that when a white man does wrong - especially against Black people - especially if he is successful and high profile - he'll have no problems recovering. In Imus' case, not only is he recovering, he got to basically take a $20 million paid vacation. Sweet.

In the meantime, while young women in college are already vulnerable in efforts to become comfortable with themselves, the young women of the Rutgers basketball team were publicly humiliated and their accomplishments devalued because they were women and most were Black.

I saw Bill Maher on Larry King last night basically saying that the Rutgers players just need to get over it. This coming from a man who claims to be sensitive to the history of African American culture. Whatever Bill. You're still just another white man who has more sensitivity to dogs than to women (he sits on the board of PETA). I am sure $20 million would be a good start to help those women get over it.

Should Imus, as well as MSNBC, NBC Universal, CBS Radio, CBS Corp., Viacom, Inc. and Westwood One Radio be sued like Kia is doing? I say...
