Chocolate Whiskey Cake
Valentine's Day is Thursday, and for many of you, the day wouldn't be complete without chocolate. Researchers discovered a few years ago that chocolate is high in antioxidants, so you don't need to suffer any guilt pangs when you eat some. Of course plain dark chocolate does have the most health benefits, but for a special occasion like Valentine's Day, everything chocolate is fair game.

Truffles are melt-in-your-mouth chocolate candies, perfect for that chocolate craving people get at this time of year. Easy Chocolate Truffles look delicious and not that hard to make at From Scratch. At Smitten Kitchen, Deb shows how to make Robert Linxes Chocolate Truffles. 64 Sq. Ft. Kitchen has a Trio of Chocolate Truffles. Check out The Yum Blog for Vegan Chocolate Truffles.

What could be more romantic than chocolate fondue? Garrett from Vanilla Garlic shares his Chocolate Fondue at Simply Recipes. A Gluten Free Guide has Chocolate Fondue featuring a type of chocolate guaranteed to be gluten-free. Food Glorious Food shares the recipe for Milk Chocolate Fondue.

Of course, people do love baking with chocolate. The Flourless Chocolate Hazelnut Cake for Two sounds good at Cookie Madness. PaperSeed has The Most Amazing Buttermilk Chocolate Cake Ever. Alanna at Two Fat Als doesn't like Valentine's Day but her Not-Valentine's Day Double Chocolate Muffins with Strawberry Frosting look like they would taste good any time. Pictured in the photo is Chocolate Whisky Cake with Rasberries from Vegalicious.

There are plenty of chocolate options for every diet. The Jew and the Carrot tells you where to get Kosher Organic Chocolate. My Kids Allergies talks about How to Make Chocolate Lollipops. Cupcake Bakeshop makes Gluten-Free Chocolate Cupcakes in a post with some great tips about gluten-free baking. For lower-glycemic chocolate goodness, David Lebovitz has Agave-Sweetened Chocolate Ice Cream.

If you want chocolate that's guaranteed to put your Valentine in a good mood, read about Intentional Chocolate at Dragonfly Reflections.

Finally, many food bloggers entered the Death by Chocolate contest at Culinate, but the winning entry was Pain with Chocolate from Not Eating Out in New York. Cathy's entry is a great read, and don't miss her interesting chocolate dish, somewhere between a trifle and bread pudding.

Blogher food editor Kalyn Denny also blogs at Kalyn's Kitchen, where she tries to avoid eating very much chocolate (sigh.)

I thought the study you found was so interesting! Love the idea of monks praying over my chocolate.

I'm always learning things from this site, or finding more blogs I can learn from.

HeHe, I think eating your way through the year sounds like great fun!

Here's something I love about BlogHer. I hopped over to say thank you for mentioning my easy truffles and find, right here in the comments, someone I might be able to network with for Passover. My squeeze observes it, I observe Easter and between the two of us and our holidays we just eat our way through the year.

Anyway..thanks again (and I love Kosher dark chocolate.)

I confess, I had no idea there was such a thing as kosher chocolate until I saw your post.
