My husband is not a very romantic man. He isn't much into gift giving without a lot of prompting or assistance. When it comes to Christmas, birthdays, and anniversaries I don't usually expect much.
Friday (1/22) was my 42nd birthday. It was not a good day. I woke up at 3am, started work at 4am, found out my dad was in the hospital with chest pains around 11am and then discovered I didn't get any of his messages he had left due to other issues.
Spent the rest of my day at the hospital with Dad & my sister. Ate dinner at Luby's with hubby and our son because it was convienent at the time.
Suffice it to say by bedtime I was tired, worried, and stressed. My birthday was the last thing on my mind.
My husband reaches for me, pulls me close and whispers "Happy Birthday" in my ear as his hands start roaming. "Maybe this will make your day better".
*SIGH* Sex does not count as a birthday present! What I really wanted was an iPhone.
