It takes a wedding...
By FPIESmommy on June 09, 2009
I started this blog for my daughter. But without my husband, I would not be lucky enough to have my daughter. So tonight, I am going to do two posts. One for my husband. And one for my daughter. For my husband, I am going to go off my FPIESmommy path briefly....my apologies...
We spent the day yesterday at the wedding of two close friends of ours. It was a beautiful day. Everything went perfectly and I know that they will have a wonderful life together. I am truly so happy for them. Their officiant did a wonderful job and during the ceremony she quoted a line from the movie "Shall We Dance". I love the sentiment.
"We need a witness to our lives. There's a billion people on the planet..... I mean, what does any one life mean? But in a marriage, you're promising to care about everything. The good things, the bad things, the terrible things, the mundane things..... all of it, all the time, every day. You're saying 'Your life will not go unnoticed because I will notice it. Your life will not go unwitnessed because I will be your witness'".
Weddings always make me think. And remember. Life goes quickly. Time passes by and before you know - milestones are passed - courtship, engagement, wedding, first house, first grown up job, first pregnancy, first baby.... Sometimes life gets so busy that I forget to say 'thank you'. So this is a small thank you to my husband. Thank you for being a part of my life. Thank you for all that you do for me. Thank you for giving me the gift of our beautiful daughter. Thank you for being a wonderful father to her. Thank you for being a witness to my life.
