Clogging your friends’ Instagram feed with food photos may only be rivaled by too many tweets about baby vomit as the most irritating act on social media. (I’m guilty of both.) But are so many people taking photos in restaurants these days that food photography should be banned from them? The New York Times reports today in “Restaurants Turn Camera Shy” that a few high-profile eateries like Momofuku Ko are prohibiting customers taking photos in their restaurants.

I’ll admit I’m annoyed when I dine with someone who stops me from taking a bite until they’ve photographed my plate for posterity. But, if a diner is paying for his food and wants to photograph it, should the chef be allowed to stop it? As usual, the Twitterverse offers its opinion.

I just bought a new camera. It actually has a "food" photo setting. No wonder the 3rd world thinks we're nuts.
