It's Pumpkin Time!

In October of 2008, I wrote a series called A Month of Pumpkins -- that's right, one pumpkin post a day for the entire month of October. Some were fun to write, others not so much. Some mornings I woke up excited about writing my pumpkin post, other days I wanted to scream if I even saw the "P" word. When the month ended, I was sorry to see it over. It was fun, it was interesting, and it was challenging. (I highly recommend you take on the writing of a month of _______. And if you do, send me the link so I can follow along and offer encouragement.)

This year, I'm not writing a month of pumpkin. I'm not even sure we'll carve pumpkins this year because the kids are with their dad and I'll be at Blissdom Canada in the days leading up to Halloween. Too bad, because my partner is an awesome pumpkin carver.

While we might not have carved pumpkins, I do know I've got a lot of pumpkin pies and pumpkin bread to look forward to.

October 007

I'd also like to read any posts you write about pumpkins -- cooking with pumpkins, decorating with pumpkins, costumes with pumpkins, photographs with pumpkins are also welcome.

Share your links to the pumpkin posts you write and the pumpkin photos you take -- I'll come visit and celebrate the month of pumpkin along with you.

Had a wonderful Thanksgiving. We had two pumpkin dishes (lasagna and pie). Funny thing about the pie; my husband's cousin called the morning before dinner as she was panicking because she thought no one was bringing the pumpkin pie! Gotta have our pie..hehehe.

Hope you enjoy your upcoming Thanksgiving as well.

And it is true, in many countries have pumpkins would be more valuable than having diamonds.

I'd prefer a pumpkin over a diamond, now that I think about it.

I miss Florida. I miss a low of 55F. Wah!

Are you going to any pumpkin patches or corn mazes or haunted houses?

I remember that we talked about the canned pumpkin problem before. And last year when we had a canned pumpkin shortage in this country, I actually thought of you.

Funny the things that stick in my head. :-)

Hi Denise!
I just posted an article on my site about slow cooking, which includes three lovely pumpkin dishes: pumpkin puree, pumpkin lasagna and pumpkin pie - yummy! I'll be posting more pumpkin stuff this week and next. Cheers to pumpkin month!

Sitting here trying to come up with a 'month of somethings' to blog about next month...other than the obvious turkeys etc. Even so, I don't know if I have it in me to commit to an entire month of one idea. Hmmmm...

I recently wrote a blog entry about pumpkins being better than diamonds!

I LOVE pumpkins and I translated the blog entry into Chinese, Japanese, Korean, French and Spanish and I got some great feedback around the world. I'd like to think that pumpkin love is a universal thing !

Happy to read your Month of Pumpkin!

Yes- finally pumpkin time! In Florida, I think the lowest temp we've made it to so far is 55 overnight, but I'm already obsessed with all things pumpkin. I bought pumpkin pie ice cream today and am starting my first batch of pumpkin muffins of the season tomorrow :)

It was fun!

I cannot seem to find canned pumpkin here in Germany so if I want to make something I guess I'll have to start from scratch.

I'm thinking at least we'll get one to carve.

Hahaha! LOL. I can not imagine a whole month on the same topic. Kudos to you; I may solicit your help if I try that. I'll be posting some pumpkin stuff in the upcoming days and will join your list then. We're celebrating Thanksgiving next Monday and we gotta have our pumpkin pie!
