It's Time for Cardigans!

It's finally cool in my neck of the woods and I'm loving it. We can put the flannel sheets on our beds and bundle up! We can build fires in our fireplaces and wear cozy clothes and get ready for snow! Not so into it? You can still enjoy the fashion opportunities that cool weather affords -- layering, boots, tights and gloves.

This fall the single item I'm seeing the most of is the cardigan. Long and lean, chunky and boxy, the cardigan is the go to piece for this season. Herewith, six I think you should be aware of.

1.

lane bryant

The vest cardi (from Lane Bryant). FYI, the belt would look fabulous over the cardigan as well.

2.

lane bryant

The asymmetric cardigan. Edgy and hip. (And also from LB.)

3.

gap

Long and lean. With a belt, without a belt, but, certainly, with narrow pants and a long necklace. (From the Gap.)

4.

nordstrom

The Statement Cardigan. Make the rest of the outfit subtle and hold off on the accessories, this sweater deserves all the attention.

5.

jcrew

The Classic. A fitted cashmere cardigan. From JCrew, the best interpreter of the classics, IMO.

6.

I kind of love cardigans. Too much. My newest favorite is a light-ish brown vesti-cardigan.

Love cardigans. I have too many black ones to count, but my favourite is my orange one.

I have to head to the mall to get a watch battery, and when I go I will definitely be popping into Nordstrom’s to pick that sweater up. It is totally me! I purchased a very similar one last season, although it was more like a vest. I got so much use out of it, and it always was an attention grabber.
