It's Time to Claim Control Over My Unruly Life!

Just as everyone is falling off the wagon of their new year's resolutions (and kudos to you for giving it a go!!), I've figured out that I desperately need some organization, direction, and structure in my life. Work is work--it's always a continuum between sorta fun and sorta difficult, but life is everything else that happens, and I'm having a hard time hacking it.

The other day a post from Lifehacker popped up in my twitter feed, as it does on a regular basis, and part of me thought, hey, why don't I try hacking my life for a month and see how it goes? I'm deeply indebted to A. J. Jacobs to this idea, but to be fair, his ambitions were faaaaaarrrrr more grandiose than mine. I'm having a hard time mentally committing to only one month of lifehacking. He hacked the Torah (and the Brittanica!) for a year. Good job!

Over the next 30 days, what I hope to do is incorporate some helpful tips and tricks into my life based on the smart advice offered by people who know. I need to hack more than just my computer's backup schedule or the best apps for my android, so I expect to incorporate foodhacks and beautyhacks, as well.

Now I should probably get off my ass (and really comfortable couch) and let the hacking begin.
