The January Blues

Well, it's the middle of January, and we should all be getting a little grumpy trying to maintain our New Year resolutions.  I am grumpy but it's not because of any new year resolutions. I don't make any and it's not that I think I'm perfect, far from it!  I just don't like to set myself up for failure.  Nevertheless, I guess I have the January blues.

I've tried yoga class. I've tried writing in my journal. I've tried going out with friends.  The dark, grey days and the long evenings have launched an assault against me.  My reflection in the mirror shows a pale woman who is sleeping too much. I'm waging too much on who will win the Oscar for best picture, a sure sign I need to get busy doing something more productive.  Okay, then I'll get busy finishing my novel in time to get it published in 2013.  Say what? That's this year already?  Consider it done and while we're discussing it, I'll start on my second novel and that other self help guide I'm planning. I'm so exhausted just thinking about it I'm going to go have a nap but before I do, I would love to hear from you.

How do you chase away the January blues?  What are you going to accomplish this year and how?
