Jessica Alba at the Golden Globes. Two words: Ah-mazing. That orange creamsicle lip stole the show!
Over here at The Beauty Mark we love ourselves a bright lip. Here’s our demonstration of how to get Jessica’s look:
Start with a medium coverage foundation and be sure to blend well. Jessica is nice and bronzed, so bust out your matte bronzer and focus on the sides of your face (under your cheekbones and up onto the temples.)
Dust powder onto the middle of your face and sweep a peachy blush along the cheekbones and apples of the cheeks. Make sure to conceal any under eye circles.
Now, onto the eyes. Jessica kept her eye shadow and liner very simple so that she could let her orange lip shine (no pun intended. In fact, her lipstick was pretty matte. Anyway…)
I used a peachy shimmer shadow all over the bottom half of Hillary’s lids, and did a subtle highlight with a vanilla shadow under the brow. Be sure to carry that highlight to the tear ducts to make your eyes big and bright!
Next, I used an orange-based brown, and blended that into the crease with a fluffy shadow brush. A thick line of black liquid eyeliner on just the outer half of the eye and several coats of mascara finished up the eyes.
Finishing touches on the face: fill in your brows, add another coat of mascara on just the outer corners of your eyes, and be sure to conceal any redness around the mouth in preparation for the bright lip.
Now, the piece de resistance: Brush powder over dry lips and follow up with a lip primer to keep the color from bleeding onto your skin.
Next, take a lip brush and coat it with the lip color. Starting at the Cupid’s bow of the mouth, create precise lines with the lip color from the middle of the lip to the outer corners. Fill in lips with the color. Blot.
Jessica didn’t use either lip liner or gloss, so feel free to stop at that step. But we wanted to give Hillary an extra punch of color and create an illusion of more fullness to her lips, so I took a color that is two shades lighter than the orange that is all over the lips and put it just in the middle of Hillary’s lips. The light will reflect this lighter color and make lips look pouty and delicious.
Voila! This look is super easy to achieve and is perfect for the spring that Punxsutawney Phil tells us is a-coming early this year!!
