BlogHer, the leading participatory entertainment, news and information network, seeks an energetic, enthusiastic Marketing Coordinator to support the Events & Marketing team with various projects and initiatives designed to serve our community of bloggers and promote the BlogHer brand to all of our core constituencies.
Our Marketing Coordinator will support the following groups at BlogHer:
- COO
- Coordinate large group scheduling and communications
- Document editing and formatting (Spreadsheets, PowerPoint, Word Docs)
- Internet research re: Customers, bloggers, technologies, tools, etc. on ad hoc basis
- Occasional travel assistance
- Events: Registration Management, Programming Scheduler and Forums
- Set-up of event registration and main Point-of-Contact for attendee registration questions
- Manage attendee lists and organize into attendee badge source documents
- Handle badge transfers, assigning complimentary ticket codes, managing sponsor ticket allocations. Ensuring speakers are properly registered.
- Audit ticket purchases to assure proper rates are purchased
- Manage the Registration Desk onsite at conferences
- Upkeep speaker data, compile data for pre-conference planning & post-conference reporting
- Coordinate multiple schedules to set up preparatory speaker conference calls
- Daily review of conference-related forum threads on BlogHer.com. Answer or allocate questions to team members
- PR:
- Post all press releases and media alerts as directed by the Marketing Manager
Requirements: Our Marketing Coordinator will have:
- An understanding of, interest in and experience with blogging, social media, online community. Sophisticated social media user, including blogging, Twitter, Facebook
- Strong people and communications skills (written and verbal)
- Detail-oriented, even when multi-tasking. Affinity for both creative and organizational tasks.
- Highly skilled with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel (Pivot Table experience a plus), PowerPoint and Filemaker Pro or comparable database software experience also a plus; curiosity about and aptitude for learning new software as needed.

Job Responsibilities:
- Day-to-day management and tracking of all Creative Services campaign, project and product development deliverables to ensure key milestones are met.
- Responsible for the creation, maintenance and delivery of project plans for key company initiatives.
- Create and lead implementation of effective processes.
- Manage multiple projects and competing demands in a fast-paced environment.
- Create detailed schedules for internal and creative teams; update schedules and communicate to teams as schedules and scope of work changes.
- Ensure project details are consistently updated in project management tool Basecamp.
