Join your Flock - Birds of a Feather '09

Welcome to Birds of a Feather '09 (BOF)!

As we did last year, BlogHer '09 will feature BOF tables hosting various topics of interest that are either a continuation of a session topic or something new!  BOF will be held on both days during the lunch hour and you will be able to pick and choose which sessions interest you and you can "join your flock".

Here is the process:

On Friday when you register we will have numerous clip boards - on these clip boards we will have started a few topics but then, we will have blanks for YOU to fill in.  As each person registers we will direct them to the BOF table to sign up.  On Saturday we will have the clipboards out again for more sign ups so make sure to visit registration on both days.

During lunch, tables will be set up, with the appropriate signage - find a topic of interest, sit down and enjoy an unscripted conversation with like minded "birds".  You should also feel free to table hop and find a conversation that stimulates your senses.

Here are a few topics from the past - add to the list, we'll have 20 tables on each day so that means 40 unique topics are available.

- Faith BOF

- Living Sober BOF

- Feminist BOF

- Entrepreneurial BOF

Give us your ideas now and we'll work on incorporating them into BOF!

BOF

How about a table (or two) for food bloggers?

BOF

My proposal: My family hates my blog BOF

I could use some good advice

Laughing with - not at!

I couldn't help but laugh at the My Family Hates my Blog BOF.  My sister is the anti-blogger and is not shy with her feelings.  With her consent, she has become a recurring blog theme because of her anti-blog barbs. She's funny but mean!  I wonder if you can use your family as material, too.

If there's a table, I'll definitely stop by-

Soon to be Empty Nest Moms

I would like an "older mommy-bloggers" BOF but I certainly don't want it called that. So maybe Soon to be Emtpy Nest Moms or Moms with kids in High School/College or Moms that can't wait for their kids to finally leave home".  You get the idea.

Book bloggers!

Since we didn't get a "room of our own," how about this? I'd love to meet as many bookish BlogHers as I can.

(I also like the "soon to be empty-nesters" idea.)

Definitely books!

I second (or third) the request for a book table!  Can't wait to see you all in person.

Book Bloggers

How could I have not thought of that? There's not a night I go to bed without reading for an hour or so!

Just a thought

Bloggers who don't and/or won't monetize their blog.

Second the request for food bloggers, and . . .

if I dare to be so specific, even a meet-up for recipe bloggers or food photographers would be great!

Attachment Parenting Bloggers

I second Annie's suggestion for Attachment Parenting bloggers.  I've seen a lot of AP-mommas talking about BlogHer and I would love to have a central location to meet them.

Yep, Yep, Yep!

Moms of Teens would be AWESOME.

Politics/Law/Non-personal

How about a politics/law/non-personal  blogger table?  I'm feeling a little out of place since my blog isn't personal or social at all.

Military BOF

How about a BOF table for Military spouse, parents, siblings, family, friends, and any military supporter period!
