Now that it is almost December and our bellies are stuffed with turkey and, well, stuffing, I thought it would be a good time to review the year and reflect....and, drumroll please...make resolutions. Yes, I know they are cliche, but I'd rather reflect on this year and look on ways to improve my life. How better to do that than by resolutions?
This is going to be broken down into a small series, to be updated every week until January. I hope you enjoy, and please feel free to leave comments! xoxo
1. beautifying oneself
I mentioned in another blog entry entitled "Lips, Lives, and Revolution," that I wear red lip shades and it is my preferred make-up 'do. While this is very true, I don't explain how little I wear make-up because it wasn't entirely relevant to the story. Make-up is a hobby--one that I love a lot. I can literally spend hours playing around with make-up and hundreds of dollars on make-up products...that I wear occasionally. Today I wore make-up for the first time in a couple weeks. Again, I feel very glamorous when I can master a look that's both unique and gorgeous, but also reflects the real Em. The look I chose today was a smouldering silver and grey-gold smokey eye with a touch of an 80s retro-style pink. I filled in my eyebrows and put on a really bright pink lipstick, blotting out most of the color, but leaving just enough to make a noticeable difference. It was a fun, daring look for me, and I felt very chic. Because I don't wear a lot of make-up often, I went to work today with a bold attitude, I had a surge of confidence that I don't want to fade away. It's so much fun to look some little cutie guy in the face knowing he's admiring your beauty.
So resolution ONE is this, short and sweet: to wear make-up everyday, even if it is just a little mascara or foundation. Doing this will increase my confidence and make me feel chic...besides, who wants all that money to go to waste? And why let my beauty membership and my Sephora card to go to waste? ;-)
Stay tuned for resolution TWO!
be veggie-megitated and blessed.
