Kaliya Hamlin

Founder of She's Geeky

I have two independent but related careers.

I am the Identity Woman - “Saving the world with user-centric (digital) identity”  My personal blog (and handle) in this area is http://www.identitywoman.net @identitywoman on twitter.

AND an Unconference designer and facilitator - http://www.unconference.net

I am the Founder and Executive Director of The Personal Data Ecosystem Consortium - it is catalyzing a network of emerging startups and standards around giving people control over their own data and digital identities.  http://www.personaldataecosystem.org.

I co-founded, co-produce and co-facilitate the Internet Identity Workshop - the leading forum developing user-centric identity on the web http://www.internetidentityworkshop.com.

My work in this field was originally inspired by my involvement with Planetwork.net (where I am also the network director) and their publishing of the Augmented Social Network: Building Identity and Trust into the Next Generation Internet - http://asn.planetwork.net.

I founded She's Geeky - http://www.shesgeeky.org a women's only technology unconference to do my part to address the challenge women face in geeky fields. (this is a project of Planetwork - a 501(c)3 non-profit organization).

I have been designing and facilitating unconferences for 6 years focusing on supporting the real conversations needed to move industries forward. I believe that our events - how we meet and gather need to be action oriented and tap the wisdom present - not just be talking heads.

I have founded several other unconferences on a range of topics including Digital Death, Open Government and Big Data.  Unconference design and facilitation clients include Read Write Web, Gates Foundation, The One Club for Art and Copy, Mass. Technology Leadership Council and Engineering, Medicine and Biology Society of the IEEE.
