Kelly Mazzante

A six-year professional basketball veteran and two-time WNBA Champion with the Phoenix Mercury, Kelly Mazzante has excelled at every phase of her basketball career. After becoming the third leading scorer in Pennsylvania State history with 3,217 points and earning recognition as a High School Top Prospect, Mazzante earned a full scholarship to Penn State. As a Nittany Lion, she rewrote the Penn State record books, graduating as the All-Time leading scorer in the Big Ten in Men’s or Women’s basketball with 2,919 points. Mazzante was honored as a three-time All-American, including twice selected to the Associated Press All-American First Team. Mazzante excelled in the classroom as she earned Academic All-American three times and as a senior, won the nation’s most prestigious student-athlete award when she was selected as the CoSIDA Academic All-American of the Year. She has continued to play internationally in Slovakia, Russia and Hungary.

Kelly recently joined WomenTalkSports.com as a featured athlete blogger when she suffered an injury in the spring of 2010. She has also blogged for the Mercury and enjoys the experience.
