The Key Ingredients to Developing Impeccable Self-Confidence

Developing impeccable self-confidence is a process; there are no quick answers or short cuts to developing TRUE self-confidence.  I say this because it really bothers me when I come across sites that recommend things like: smiling more, making eye contact, working out and never leaving the house without looking your best, as means to building your self-confidence.  Doing all of those things is really good for your self-esteem and your self-worth but they are not true confidence builder. Things that make you feel good might provide you with a temporary boost of confidence but so will having a few drinks…and you already know that’s not the answer!! The words developing impeccable self-confidence can easily be exchanged with the words building self-confidence.  And whether you are developing or building something…you need to take actions; you need to be pro-active.

The real keys to developing/building impeccable self-confidence are: gaining self-awareness, mastering your thought process, recognizing and facing your fears and stepping outside your comfort zones.

Gaining Self-Awareness: Self-confidence is all about trusting and believing in yourself and your abilities and the only way to really trust yourself to is intimately know yourself.  A very small percentage of people actually know themselves because most people don’t take the time to 1.) Get to know themselves and 2.) Keep up with the ways they change. We become too busy and preoccupied with life, our work, families, friends and the latest show on T.V.

Getting to know yourself takes a significant investment of time and effort, but it’s the best thing you can ever do for yourself.  This video can help you get started:

Mastering your Thought Process: Depending on how busy you are and your level of creativity; you process between 12,000 – 60,000 thoughts a day…yep, that’s a day!! Many of those thoughts, unless you have mastered your thought process, are thoughts you don’t even realize you’re having. The more you master your thought process, the more you can control your thoughts and therefore the things that happen in your life, your emotions, and moods.  The road the positive thinking is through mastering your thought process and positive thinking is a huge part of building your self-confidence.

Recognizing and Facing Your Fears:  “You gain strength, courage, and confidence by every experience by which you really stop to look fear in the face. You are able to say to yourself, 'I lived through this horror. I can take the next thing that comes along.” – Eleanor Roosevelt

I don’t think I really need to add to this other than to say; it’s the absolute truth.

Stepping Outside Your Comfort Zone:  There is very little learning and growing taking place within your comfort zones; you are definitely not being challenged or facing your fears sitting “safely” within your comfort zones.  You aren’t taking risks or living up to your potential.  Acting and living within your comfort zone is not being confident…it’s being safe, stagnant and fearful.  You have to step outside of your comfort zone and eventually shatter all comfort zones so that no matter what situation you find yourself in; you’ll feel fully confident!!

If you are really interested in building true and impeccable self-confidence…now you have the key ingredients you need.
