Recently, KitchenAid® partnered with BlogHer and put four of our great food bloggers to the test. They issued each blogger a Fall cooking challenge and boy, did these cooks deliver! The Fall challenges were such a hit that we knew we had to do it again for Winter!

This time KitchenAid® partnered with six wonderful cooks and asked them to Torta Yesterday's Turkey, Cool Down Hot Chocolate, Trade Pasta for Polenta, Poof a Holiday Soufflé, Say Yum with Sugar Plums and Poach Pears with Pinot . Were the bloggers able to rise to the challenge?

Check out the Winter Cooking Challenge posts and be sure to enter the sweepstakes - winners will receive a $200 Visa gift card!

The My Kitchen Is The Heart Of The Home Sweepstakes runs from 12/2/2013 through 12/31/2013 and is only open to individuals who, at the time of entry deadline, are legal residents of the United States and are 18 years or older. Click here to read the official rules. Winners will be randomly selected from all eligible entries. Good luck!

Winter Cooking Challenge: Cool Down Hot Chocolate

Intensely chocolaty, thick and creamy, with a salted caramel twist. OMG it is so good. The reason I'm loving this recipe so much, besides the mind-melting (har) flavor is because it's Philadelphia-style ice cream vs French-style which means you don't need to make an egg custard for the base....more

Winter Cooking Challenge: Say Yum with Sugar Plums

Making sugar plums could be a big pain to make if you had to chop everything by hand.  It wouldn’t be fun at all.  But you know what makes super quick work of it all?  Like literally takes every ounce of difficulty and prep work out of the process?  My beautiful workhorse of the kitchen.  My food processor.  Specifically, my 13-cup KitchenAid® 13-Cup Food Processor.  It’s pretty amazing.  And it looks great next to my  KitchenAid® Stand Mixer....more

Winter Cooking Challenge: Poach Pears with Pinot

Cooking with a gas cooktop is my favorite. We've been in her home for over six years now and our KitchenAid® cooktop served us well. The only thing it's missing is a little elf to come out and clean it every night while I'm sleeping....more

Winter Cooking Challenge: Torta Yesterday’s Turkey

I cook way more than I need on Thanksgiving, but I still don’t like to eat the exact same meal again the very next day, so I was excited when KitchenAid® challenged us to “Torta Yesterday’s Turkey.” My KitchenAid® refrigerator makes it super easy to organize all of my leftovers....more

Winter Cooking Challenge: Poof a Holiday Souffle

Making a soufflé for the first time is a daunting task, but I’ve made more challenging things than soufflé. I was so excited to finally be making soufflé, so I put my worries aside and got to work. Plus with those KitchenAid® double wall ovens, I knew I was in good hands....more

Winter Cooking Challenge: Trade Pasta for Polenta

Much like lasagna, you can flavor polenta many ways. So for our challenge we made a lasagna, but instead of using lasagna noodles we layered cheesy polenta with a hearty red sauce. The KitchenAid® ProScrub® Option is ideal for concentrated cleaning of caramelized or baked-on messes....more

Fall Cooking Challenge: Harvest Cobb Salad with Creamy Corn and Poblano Dressing

I usually start thinking about cobb salad in the spring and stop thinking about it by the end of summer. But why? We need our veggies all year long and there are so many fall ingredients that would be perfect on a hearty cobb salad. This month KitchenAid challenged me to PUT CORN ON THE COBB, or make an autumn-inspired Cobb Salad using corn off the cob, and to make a video of it!...more

Fall Cooking Challenge: Black Cherry and Dark Chocolate Chip Ice Cream Scones

I am here today to blow your mind. Not kidding. Mind. Blowing. Experience. You see, a couple of weeks ago, a video crew from LA flew here to my house (yes really!) to film me in my kitchen. Why, you ask? Well, you see, KitchenAid challenged me to come up with a fall baking recipe. That challenge? Only use two ingredients. You read that right. Two ingredients. But lo and behold, I succeeded, dear readers. I knocked that sucker right out of the park, I decided to SERVE UP ICE CREAM SCONES....more

Fall Cooking Challenge: Pappardelle with Bolognese Sauce

My friends at KitchenAid challenged me to BEEF UP YOUR BOLOGNESE, or come up with a Fall version of my traditional Bolognese sauce. How did we do that? With the help of my KitchenAid® Dual Fuel 36″ Range of course and by infusing the earthy deep flavor of mushrooms into our low and slow Saturday sauce. Bolognese sauce is all about layering flavors and mushrooms just add another level to this classic sauce that’s perfect for Fall (and winter)....more

Fall Cooking Challenge: Salted Caramel Apple Crumble + KitchenAid Challenge

Hey guys! Do you remember when I posted those pictures of that production crew in my house a few weeks back? Well, they were there to film me making this Salted Caramel Apple Crumble using all my gorgeous KitchenAid® appliances! I was actually issued a challenge to MAKE THE CARAMEL APPLE CRUMBLE, or take a classic crumble and turn it into something different but just as fabulous using the KitchenAid® Stand Mixer....more
