Kunde Cab Wine Review and Butter Lettuce Salad With Pecan Recipe

What's better then coming home after a long day at work and uncorking a bottle of wine? Drinking it! It’s Thursday and time for our weekly wine review. Kunde Winery stretches along two miles of the scenic Sonoma Highway and borders Mayacamas Mountain range. The winery is known for its rust red soil, and has been said to produce complex and intriguing wines.
Wine Maker’s Notes: An intriguing bouquet of black fig, anise and hints of vanilla envelopes a core of raspberry and currants. Bold, rich and concentrated, the rich fruit flavors dance across a rich chocolate base. The wine's supple texture lingers effortlessly against polished tannins.
Varietal: Cabernet Sauvignon
Location: Sonoma Valley
Opening the Kunde Cab wine lets out a nice bold aroma of raspberries even a hint of cherry. Letting this wine aerate is key. Beautiful hints of earthy herbs explode when you take your first sip. I was reading other wine reviews when someone mentioned they tasted some rosemary. I had some rosemary bagels and decided to slice up small bits to taste with the wine. The rosemary really pops, which for me is an added bonus since its my favorite herb. The Kunde Cab wine is nicely balanced between sweetness and earthiness. A great everyday wine to share with friends.
Tonight we paired the Kunde Cab wine with a hearty turkey chili and a butter lettuce and Lola Rossa salad with candied pecans, olives and balsamic rice vinegar.

1 package of Butter Lettuce and Lola Rossa Salad Mix
1/2 cup of sweet and spicy pecans from Trader Joes
1 2.25 oz can of black olives (use 1/2 can)
2 Tbsp of Rice Vinegar Balsamic Blend
Salt and pepper to taste
Feel free to add tomatoes, red onions, cucumbers or avocados
