There is a small but powerful group on women and men online who are blogging about how to change the way Americans work. Here is a sample of the amazing discussion about 8 bloggers had ALL week about the systems within which we work: http://themamabee.wordpress.com/2010/01/15/a-wrecking-ball-for-the-house-of-work/
Few women would argue the way we work in this country is broken. Corporate schedules, the typical career ladder, even school schedules all reflect an old world where one parent worked, one stayed home. Things need to change, but the change is hard. Michelle Obama visited the Dept. of Labor on Jan. 14 and extolled the balance of family-friendly workplaces and sane hours. When will things really change?
I would like to have a discussion and get input from the BlogHer community about how we can broaden our reach and make big change happen in 2010. How can we be tempered radicals: bringing together ideas for new, flexible, family-friendly and sane ways to work within the blogging public (especially Mommybloggers!), and then taking these ideas to our day jobs inside and outside corporations? Surely women bloggers should use our power to change one of the most fundamental part of our lives?
Blogs I'm thinking of include:
