Lady Gaga's butt inspired new Thierry Mugler handbag line By Jean Bentley September 27, 2012 7:35 PM ET Follow @hijean on Twitter | Google Lady Gaga's body has made headlines recently because of its slightly larger size (psh, girlfriend says she's gained 25 pounds but she looks amazing, so whatever), but now a specific body part is grabbing the spotlight: her butt. Apparently, the new handbag line from Thierry Mugler was inspired by the pop star's backside. Creative director Nichola Formichetti tells Women's Wear Daily that his new line was inspired by Gaga's butt -- but she's not aware that her behind was the muse for the handbags, clutches and sportswear. PHOTOS: Lady Gaga's crazy costumes "She doesn't know yet," he says. "It has a little bit of punk rock feeling but it's still quite chic." Formichetti and Gaga have worked together in the past -- he was her stylist (thank him for a lot of those crazy outfits), and she was one of his runway models for his first Mugler collection. Gaga posted some head-turning photos of herself in lingerie on her website earlier this week, admitting that she's suffered from eating disorders since she was a teenager and struggles with her body image.
