Last-Minute DIY Holiday Food Gifts

Even as winter's chill descends upon us, there's still plenty of DIY gifts you can concoct in time for the big holiday. Here's a few ideas for gifts, some of which can be whipped up in mere minutes.
Infusions and Liqueurs
There's just enough time to get a nice limoncello started; they'll need to let it age in the bottle a little past Christmas, so think of it as the gift that keeps on giving. Think outside the box of lemons! Try it with other citrus, like my favorite, grapefruit for a pompelmocello.
For something a little different, try this milk liqueur. Lemon causes the milk solids to curdle, which when strained out leave a sweet liqueur with an amazingly rich mouthfeel.
Got some serious cocktailians on your list? Whip up a batch or two of your own bitters. You can be sure you'll be rewarded with a very special tipple.
